Mark Chesnutt Ends Show Early, Scraps 2 More Due to Illness
Mark Chesnutt’s Health Update: Minor Issues Following Early Concert Ending
Mark Chesnutt has faced recent health concerns, but his representative tells Taste of Country that the situation is “nothing major.” The country singer abruptly ended his performance early on February 12 at the Oxford Performing Arts Center in Oxford, Alabama, after just three songs due to a sudden illness. Venue officials reported the interruption on Facebook, stating they hope to reschedule the concert while offering refunds to ticketholders.
Fans expressed surprise and disappointment, but many were understanding. Comments included praise for Chesnutt’s performance despite his condition, with one fan noting his voice was still impressive even when unwell. Following the Alabama concert, Chesnutt postponed two additional shows in Augusta, Georgia, and Smithfield, North Carolina, citing a sinus infection affecting his voice. The Smithfield date has already been rescheduled for March 29.
Chesnutt’s health has been a topic of concern in recent years, as he has dealt with significant issues including a fractured spine, heart surgery, and alcohol addiction. Despite these challenges, his publicist remains optimistic about his recovery from this latest ailment. Fans are eager for his next performance, with the tour continuing on February 21 in Jackson, Mississippi.
