Anniston Water Works & Sewer Board
The Water Works and Sewer Board of the City of Anniston, Alabama, was established in 1962 but dates back to the city’s founding in 1873. Governed by a seven-member board, the system serves over 19,000 water and 7,600 sewer customers, including several wholesale accounts. The primary water source is Coldwater Spring, treated at the Paul B. Krebs Plant. The system includes over 500 miles of water mains and 200 miles of sewer lines, with wastewater treated at two major facilities. The main office, located at 1429 Noble Street, opened in 2024. In 2025, the Board won Alabama’s Great American Water Taste Test reflecting its commitment to excellence and public health.
